Betty Roberts

Services will be at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Jeff Cates, pastor of Canyon Country Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 P.M. on Friday at West Park Cemetery in Hereford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Betty Jo Roberts was born on June 9, 1926 in Kaufman, Texas to Marvin and Verda Stanfield Littlejohn. She graduated from Vernon High School. She married James N. Roberts on August 6, 1945 in Louisville, MS, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was a longtime resident of Hereford where she worked for KPAN Radio for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hereford and sang in the church choir for many years. Betty Jo was an outgoing person and loved tennis, fishing and boating. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Littlejohn. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Miller and husband, Mike, of Canyon; a son, Rick Roberts, of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Traci Sutton and husband, J.R., of Canyon; great granddaughter, Katelyn Sutton, of Canyon; step-grandson, Randall Sutton, of Quanah; and nephew, Charles Littlejohn, of Dallas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association, 415 W. Eighth St. Suite 300, Amarillo, TX 79101.
