Betty Knowles, 84, of Canyon, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Private family services will be held.

Betty was born on July 29, 1937 in Plainview to William Cecil and Denvis (Martine) Cox and was a graduate of Plainview High School. She married the love of her life, Eddie Knowles, on September 1, 1957, and they were married for 56 years before he preceded her in death on September 19, 2013. She worked as financial aid secretary at W.T.S.U. for many years.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon, the Study Club, and was a Master Gardener. She dearly loved her family, gardening, and traveling extensively with her husband, Eddie.

Betty is also preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Kra, a brother, Bobby Cox, and a son-in-law, Kirk Strobel. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Richardson and husband, Greg of Amarillo and Nicki Strobel of Canyon; four grandchildren, Reid Strobel and wife, Edna, Aaron Strobel, Trent Strobel, and Ben Richardson; three great grandchildren, Bella, Elliot, and Grace; five siblings, Dorothy Solomon, Tom Cox, Lynn Cox, Barbara Solomon, and Cecile Leatherman; and 20 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank BSA Hospice of the Southwest for their exceptional care.
