Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Damon Deaton, pastor of Faith Community Church, officiating. After inurnment, burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery, beside her late husband, Lewel G. Johnston, who preceded her in death on January 13, 2001. Mrs. Johnston-Reneau was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, attended schools in West Plains, Missouri and has been a resident of Canyon and Shamrock since 1968, moving here from Titonka, Iowa. She was office manager of Neblett Clinic for twenty years and worked as secretary for The Lair Co. for fourteen years for her very good friend, Ray Grimes. Later she was office manager for Dale Cryer Construction before marrying James R. Reneau and moving to Shamrock. She was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi and belonged to Pioneer Promenaders, Texas Twisters and Yellow Rock Plus Square Dance Clubs. She loved all forms of dancing. She loved being Mom and Grammy to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Lewel Johnston in 2001 and James Reneau in 2014. Survivors include her son, David C. Ferguson and wife, Teresa, of Eden, Utah; two daughters, Leisa Keith and Bill Hancock, of Canyon, and Marcia Archer and husband, Larry, of Eagle Nest, NM; four grandchildren, Daniel Keith, Jamye Keith, and Kyle and Jesee Ferguson; three great granddaughters, Devin Nikole Jenkins, Harley Quinn Keith, and Tristyn Louise Keith; two great grandsons, Jaylyn James Keith and Logan Archer Keith; one brother, Gary R. White, of Claremore, OK; nieces, nephew and cousins of Oklahoma, and many close friends that helped her through life.
