Bettie Hunter

November 10, 1935 — August 24, 2017

Bettie Ann Hunter, formerly of Canyon, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 24, 2017 at 2:55 pm.  Bettie was born on November 10, 1935 to Emmett Raymond Coleman and Venora Lee Barker Coleman in Seymour, Texas. Memorial services for Bettie will be on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Canyon Country Church located at 2600 FM 3331 in Canyon, Texas with Pastor Jeff Cates officiating.  Service will start at 10 am with food and fellowship with the family following. Bettie lived in Plainview, Texas the last 16 months of her life with her son, Larry and daughter-in-law, Lora.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Maria for being her in-home caretaker,  the staff at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, for taking such wonderful care of Bettie in her final days on this earth.  We couldn't have asked for better caregivers than the ones God put in her path. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Lois Campbell, Jackie Cartwright, Sharon Coleman Denton, and a brother, Bill Coleman. Bettie's 81 year legacy included three children: first born son Raymond Hunter and wife, Sherry of Kansas, Oklahoma, second born son Larry Hunter and wife, Lora of Plainview, Texas and her daughter, Trina Hunter Weaver of Fort Worth, Texas.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Shauna Farley and children Michaela, Mackinzie and Jordan, Jessica Bowely and husband, Dewayne, and children Gabe and Drake, David Carr and wife, Penny, and children Aubrey, Elise, John and James, Kristina Ellis and husband, Jospeh, and children Isabella, David, Claire and Danie, Ryan Carr and wife, Kim, and children Amber, Joanna,  Ross Hunter and wife, Shelly, and son Asher, Annalisa DelaO and Tristan Ward, Jeremy Schmidt and daughter, Hollie Mason, Joshua Weaver and wife, Stephanie, and daughter Lia Pesina, Jessica Weaver and son, Eric Weaver and Jonathan Weaver. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Happy State Bank under Bettie Hunter Memorial Fund.  Memorials can be made at any Happy State Bank location or mailed to Happy State Bank, 1908 4th Ave.  Canyon, Texas  79015.
