Services will be 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at South Georgia Baptist Church with Bob Miller, officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Bessie E. Miller Gidden was born on July 13, 1912 to Henry Wesley Stout and Cora Hester James Stout in Cave City, Arkansas. She moved to Canyon in early 1980"s from Channing, Texas. She married Fred Miller on February 10, 1936 and he preceded her death on April 13, 1988. Bessie then married George Gidden on January 25, 2002 in Amarillo. As a member of the First Baptist Church in Canyon, she was also a member of the Triple L and Triple L Senior Choir. She is now a member of South Georgia Baptist Church and SonShiners Group. Bessie was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, two daughters, Linda Miller and Cathy DeBord, one grandson, Terry Blackwell, and stepdaughter, Deniece Boatright. Survivors include her husband, George Gidden of the home; three daughters, Pat Bryan and husband, James of Amarillo, Jody Blackwell of Hereford, and Reta DeBord and husband, Melvin VanAlstyne, TX; son, Bob Miller and wife, Glenda of Amarillo; brother, W. M. Stout and wife, Marie of Canyon; sister, Faye Elledge of Bloomfield, NM; four stepsons, Dewayne Gidden, Harold Gidden, Rocky Gidden, and James Gidden; three stepdaughters, Patricia Whitfill, Donna Kitchens, and Georgia Rutherford; eight grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. Family requests memorials be sent to the Building Fund at South Baptist Church in Amarillo.
