Bertha Appling

Bertha Audine Appling, 92, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017.  Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Floydada Cemetery with Lon Conner officiating.  Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Bertha Audine Appling was born on December 23, 1924 in Crosbyton to Edward and Zilla Truett Wallace.  She graduated from Ralls High School.  Bertha married Wayne Appling on May 22, 1945 in Mt. Blanco Baptist Church and she loved gardening and cooking.  She lived at The Craig and was involved in the many activities there.  Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson-in-law, Jody Burnett, and ten siblings.  She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Conner and husband Lon, of Lewisville, Judy Sanders and husband Don, of Bloomfield, NM, and Phyllis Farley and husband Chuck, of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
