Beatrice Glanton

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 23 at Brooks Chapel with Dr. David L. Lowrie, Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church of Canyon, officiating. Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 23 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Brooks Chapel. Ms. Glanton will be available for viewing on Tuesday, December 22 from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Beatrice "Bea" Glanton was born August 25, 1917 in Benjamin, Texas to Walter and Tommie Burgess. She married Bob Glanton on July 4, 1933 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1968. Bea was a hairdresser in Canyon until her retirement in 1979. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Brandon, great granddaughter, Leisha Burrus, and two brothers, Ray Burgess and Clifford Burgess. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Burrus and husband, Ray, of Lipscomb, Bettie Wimberly and husband, A.C., of Lubbock; brother, Walter J. Burgess, Jr., of Spring; a son-in-law, David Brandon, of Boulder, Colorado; four grandchildren, Rennie Burrus, Devin Burrus, Kerry Wimberly, and Mendy Putman; Nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Canyon Meals on Wheels, Box 104, Canyon, TX 79015 or Vista Care Hospice of Lubbock, 1717 Norfolk Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79416.
