Bart Thetford

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Deckard, Rev. Manish Shirley and Kirk Watson, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Bart Alton Thetford was born on August 16, 1965 to George and Pat Thetford in Midland, Texas. He married Karla Abernethy on July 31, 1999. Bart graduated from Bowie High School in Bowie, Texas, and Tarleton State University where he earned a Bachelor"s Degree in Plant and Soil Science. Bart loved the Lord and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Canyon and the Journey Sunday School Class. The majority of his career was spent in lawn care. He owned Thetford Lawn Care and was employed by Bug Baggers Pest Control. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys. His favorite thing to do was watching any activity or sport his children were involved in. Karla was the love of his life, and his children were his pride and joy. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Karla Thetford, of the home; five children, Allisha White and husband, Max, of Amarillo, Jared Beatty, Kassandra Thetford, Jayden Beatty and Brady Thetford, all of the home; three brothers, Mack Thetford and wife, Joyce, of Stephenville, Bryan Thetford and wife, Carolyn, of Portland, Texas, Eric Thetford and wife, Inez, of Ingleside, Texas; two sisters, Debra Thetford, of Jacksonville, NC, and Natalie Barclay and husband, Billy, of Midland; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
