Barbara Ann Roder, 85, of Amarillo, formerly of Enid, OK, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025. The vigil will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 26 at St. Gregory the Great in Enid, Oklahoma. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 on Thursday, June 26 at Hinton Cemetery, Hinton, Oklahoma.
Barbara was born on February 1, 1940 in Hinton, Oklahoma to Elmer and Irene (Montagne) Ramming. She was a 1958 graduate of Hinton High School and received her Bachelor of Education from Oklahoma State University. She received her Master of Theological Studies from Newman University in Kansas and her Master of Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
Barbara married John Roder on July 9, 1962, and they were married for 54 years before he preceded her in death in 2016. She taught for 25 years in Enid, Oklahoma, 23 at the elementary school and 2 years at the middle school.
Barbara was a longtime member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Enid, Oklahoma where she was very active in the many programs there. She loved spending time outdoors in her yard where she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a faithful supporter of OSU Women's Basketball, delighted in watching OSU football, and treasured spending time with her family and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Ramming, sister-in-law, Darlene Ramming, and brother-in-law, Scott Emerson.
Survivors include her son, Joe Roder and wife, Karen of Canyon; two daughters, Jeanne Roder and wife, Diane Noble of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jacqueline Sartz of Mary Esther, FL; four grandsons, Adam (Desiree) Roder of Rochester, NY, Alex Roder and fiancé, Janelle of Rochester, NY, Andrew Roder of Austin, and Brian Sartz of Fairfield, CA; one granddaughter, Katie (Cody) McWilliams of FL; brother, Robert Ramming of Hinton, OK; sister, Alicia Emerson of Edmond, OK; sister-in-law, Betty Ramming of Hinton, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
