Barbara Blackwell, 80, of Canyon, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2022 at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Enns, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel.

Barbara was born July 18, 1941 in Bonham, Texas to James and Gladys Hargrove Hale. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School. On December 12, 1959, she married Ranzel "Rusty" Blackwell.

Barbara enjoyed square dancing with Rusty in their younger years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Quilting Club, and the Red Hat Society.

Everyone loved her famous wacky cake.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Rusty; sons, Jimmy Blackwell and Johnny Blackwell; grandchildren, Haley, Seth, Brenynn and Megan; great grandchildren, Laney, Liam, Harley, Isabel, and Jackson, who is on the way.
The family suggests memorials be made to First Methodist Church, 1818 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015.
