Avalon Bridges

Services will be at 10:00 AM onMonday August 4, 2003 at the University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Chapel Sunday August 3, 2003 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Avalon Bridges was born October 9, 1939, in Paducah, TX. She was a graduate of Canyon High School and West Texas State University. In addition to being a member of the University Church of Christ, she was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Arthur Brown. Survivors include her mother, Vera Brown, of Canyon; one daughter, Sonja Jellison, of Canyon; one son, Carter Harvey, of Canyon; one sister, Dorothy Chapin, of Warrenville, IL; four grandchildren, Shawna Simpson, Meghan Bedrosian, Matthew Jellison and Alexis Jellison. The family suggests memorials be to the University Church of Christ 3400 Conner Dr. Canyon, TX 79015 or Vista Care Hospice, 4418 Olton Rd., Plainview, TX 79072 or the American Cancer Society
