December 10, 1963 — May 25, 2022

August Hesse, 58, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Father Scott Raef as celebrant. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas.

August Hesse was born December 10, 1963 in Ft. Lewis, Washington to August Hesse III and Barbetta Hays Hesse. He received a bachelor's degree from West Texas State University. While in college, he was a bus driver for Canyon ISD, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

August was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Calvary and Mountain Reenactors and the American Chuckwagon Association. He loved visiting with people especially while on a chuckwagon where he could share some of his wild stories. He also loved his dogs, Lacy and Little Britches.

He was preceded in death by his father, August Hesse III, an infant brother, Lyon William Hesse, and aunts and uncles, Mary Lou Hesse, John and Evelyn Hays, Charles Hays, Jr., and Mary Helen Frank.
Survivors include his mother, Barbetta Hesse; brother, Charles Hesse; uncle, Jason Hesse and wife Melody; aunt, Becky Mitchell and husband Jerry; and numerous cousins.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Texas Kidney Foundation, www.txkidney.org.
