Armella Wieck

Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Rev. Phu Phan, Rev. Daniel Dreher, Rev. Jim Schmitmeier, and Rev. John Valdez officiating. Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Umbarger, TX. Armella Marie Reinart Wieck was born on June 8, 1921 in Lindsay, Texas to Joseph and Mary Lueb Reinart. She married Edward J. Wieck on January 22, 1946 in Hereford, and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2012. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, bridge, playing dominoes, video poker, and dancing. She loved cross-stitch and handmade quilts for all of her granddaughters. She was known by all for her hand kneaded bread and cinnamon rolls. Armella enjoyed family gatherings and was lovingly known as grandmother, grandma, gmom, and mom. She was a woman of few words, but she was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Armella was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel, her parents, and three brothers, Arhart, Esidore, and Alfred Reinart. The family wishes to thank the staff at Childers Place for their excellent care. Survivors include seven children, James Wieck and wife, Carolyn, of Dalhart, Arnold Wieck and wife, Diana, of Umbarger, Kenneth Wieck and wife, Debbie, of Colorado Springs, CO, Randy Wieck and wife, Ann, of Umbarger, Marianne Doshier and husband, David, of Lake Tanglewood, Bernard Wieck and wife, Diane, of Amarillo, and Debbie Godfrey and husband, Jerry, of Canyon; 24 grandchildren, Charlotte Strafuss, Mark Wieck, Brad Wieck, Jeff Wieck, Sherri Walker, Jamie Williams, Bruce Wieck, Jason Wieck, Russell Wieck, Tracie Jackson, Jennifer Rindahl, Kim Fuentes, Kendra Davis, Laurel Wieck, Ryan Wieck, Jackie Wieck, Alex Wied, Luke Wieck, Nicole Houle, Blaine Wieck, Shane Wieck, Alyssa Wieck, Ashley Godfrey, and Maegan Godfrey; 27 great grandchildren; brothers, Leander Reinart and wife, Clara, of Hereford and Elmer Reinart and wife, Irene, of Hereford; sister, Helen Batenhorst, of Umbarger; sisters-in-law, Edna Wieck, of Umbarger and Frieda Reinart, of Hereford. The family suggests memorials to the WT Catholic Student Center, 2610 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015 or to St. Ann's Catholic Church, PO Box 59, Canyon, TX 79015.
