Arden Bruce Ranson

Arden Bruce Ranson, 88, of Canadian, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church of Canadian with Pastor Tom Moore officiating & Pastor David Gerhardt assisting.

Arden was born on October 23, 1932 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to R.B. and Iva (Hill) Ranson. He was a 1951 graduate of Canadian High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955 as Military Police in Germany during the Korean War. Arden married Lila Holder on November 18, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Beaver, Oklahoma. They settled in Canadian where he farmed all his life and was a mechanic for many years.

Arden served as a Deacon and Elder in the First Christian Church in Canadian for many years and was then a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canadian. He and Lila always enjoyed going dancing.

Arden was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lila Holder Ranson, and a great-grandson, Samuel Williams. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Moore and husband, Tom, and Teresa Adams and husband, Paul, all of Canyon; sister, Edra Bowdle of Kerville, TX; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Main St., Canadian, TX 79014.
