Arch William "Bill" Johnson

Arch William "Bill" Johnson, 76, of Happy, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Happy Cemetery with Curtis House, pastor of Harvest Connexion Church in Amarillo, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Happy's Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be in Happy's Memorial Chapel.
Bill was born July 2, 1944 to Arch and Bernett Johnson. He attended Happy Public School and graduated from Happy High School in1962. He then attended West Texas State College. He married Mary Smith on February 6, 1965. Bill worked as a cowboy at Randall County, Swisher County, Mesa Feeders (Hobbs, NM), and Wrangler Feedyards. He also owned and operated Bill's Boot Shop off the square in Canyon, Texas for a number of years. He was a member and past president of the Happy Rodeo Association.
Bill loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, mostly as they would run around outside. He followed and kept up with their activities. Bill loved riding horses and watching his kids and grandkids ride them as well. He made sure the kids had horses to ride. Bill was often seen helping with the steers at ropings in Happy for Happy Days and the Wesley Sims. Bill had a way of being a part of many people's lives. His smile and personality sure could make people laugh.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Arch and Bernett Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Mary Johnson of Happy; sons, Jody & Lisa Johnson of Vega and Clint & Christy Johnson of Canyon; six grandchildren, Trevor & Amanda Johnson, Braden Johnson, Brent Johnson, Bailey & Sam Seay, Teagen Johnson, and Kyton Johnson; 4 Great-grandchildren, Beckham & Shep Johnson and Tralee & Quincee Johnson; brother, Joe & Jeanette Johnson; sister, Janice & Ivan Crosby; brother-in-law, James & Jackie Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
