Anna Collier

Anna Mae Collier, 101, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003 in Friona, Texas. Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at Dreamland Cemetery with Rev. Darren Dye, pastor of Canyon Christian Church, officiating. Mrs. Collier was born on September 15, 1901 to Ellis and Kathryn (Cash) Peters at Clifton City, Missouri. She married Charles Robert Collier on November 8, 1919. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her oldest child, Jackson Arthur Collier. Her long eventful life was spent in Missouri, Michigan, New Mexico, California, and her last years in Texas. She was a homemaker and operated coffee shops in Michigan and New Mexico. Her home was always open to visitors especially the neighborhood kids. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Las Vegas, NM. Survivors include two daughters, Opal Griffin, of Greenville, South Carolina, and Lotus Goetsch, of Las Vegas, New Mexico; one son, Charles Collier, of Canyon; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.
