Amy Gist

Amy Gist, 46, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo with Kyle Wade, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, February, 13, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Amy was born on September 27, 1975 in Hereford to Galen and Cathy (Hardison) Friemel. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1994 and received her Pharmacy Tech Certification from Amarillo College. Amy married Roger Gist, IV on August 21, 1999. She was a loving wife and mother who assisted and supported her husband throughout his career and was passionate about supporting her children in all their activities.

She loved her job as office manager at Top of Texas Gin and was loved by all her coworkers.

She enjoyed reading, going to the movies, popcorn, and vacationing with her family. Amy also loved her pets, Gus and Mittens. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Amy is preceded in death by her father, Galen Friemel, in 2020. Survivors include her husband, Roger Gist, of Canyon; three children, R.B. Gist, Abby Gist, and Sawyer Gist; her mother, Cathy Friemel of Canyon; brother, Jarrod Friemel of Amarillo; and sister, Lisa Arnn of Canyon.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital who worked so hard for Amy and showed such compassion.
