Aline Mcclelland

December 31, 1969 — July 11, 2009

A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, July 13. Aline was born on June 25, 1915 in Lutie, Texas to Myrtie Whitson Day and Fletcher P. Day. Her family moved to Dalhart, where Mr. Day was a conductor for the Rock Island Railroad. She graduated from Dalhart High School. In 1933, she married the love of her life, Luke McClelland. They established their home in Pampa, where he was in the automotive parts business. They moved to Amarillo in 1968 and he continued in the automotive parts business until his death in 2004. The McClellands were married 72 years. They were members of Anna Street Church of Christ. Aline was a homemaker, an avid reader, wonderful seamstress, great cook, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Womack and husband, John, of Canyon; a granddaughter, Leslie Carlile; grandsons, Jamey Gallemore and wife, Mary Beth, Paul Womack and wife, Delana; granddaughters, Lee Ann Fatale and husband, Matt, and Michele Tiller and husband, Clarence; seven great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. The family would very much appreciate memorials be to the High Plains Children"s Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79114 or to your favorite charity.
