Alice Moody

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at South Georgia Baptist Church with Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Alice Adams Moody was born on March 28, 1921 in Milam County, Texas to Robert Huel and Myrtle Violet Mosley Adams. She received her nursing degree from Shannon School of Nursing in San Angelo. She was preceded in death by her first husband, G.P. Touchstone. She married Lloyd Franklin Moody in 1962, and he also preceded her in death in 1987. Alice worked during WWII helping the war effort by making tents. She owned a nursing home in Waco for three years. She lived in Channing for over twenty years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Channing and moved to Amarillo in 2009 and became a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. She was a nurse for thirty-one years and a foster mom for thirty years. In 1995, she received 'Foster Parent of the Year' for the state of Texas. Alice enjoyed helping people and 'was a mother to many and a friend to all.' She was also preceded in death by her four siblings, Thomas Adams, William Adams, Roy Adams, and Kathrine Hayes, and three sons, Thomas Ray Touchstone, William Robert Touchstone, and Danny L. Moody. Survivors include her daughter, Lecia Moody, of Amarillo; a son, Joe Lee Touchstone, of Beeville; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the High Plains Children's Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79114.
