Alene Stewart

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 24, 2013 in Brooks Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery, Canyon, TX. Alene Stewart was born on October 31, 1919 to Milton Miller and Elzora Byrd Miller in Eastland, Texas. She married Tom Stewart on December 24, 1938. They were married for 46 and one-half years. She was a licensed hair stylist and cosmetology instructor. She worked and managed Borger Beauty College when it first opened in Borger, Texas. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially enjoyed her granddaughter, Cassi Stewart, who came to live with them permanently when she was four years old. She is now a grown lady. Cassi loved and cared for her grandmother all of her life. They had a very special love for each other. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ellis Miller, two sisters, Artie Norris and Zella Campbell, husband, Tom, their first baby, a tiny son that died at premature birth and a son, Ronnie Stewart. Survivors include her children, Cassi Stewart, of Amarillo, Terry Michael Stewart, and wife, Cindy, of Canyon, Kip Stewart, of Galveston; a special nephew, Glenn Campbell, and wife, Ricky, of Fredericksburg; three grandsons, Kip Stewart, of Tulsa, OK, Troy Stewart, of Galveston, and Chad Stewart, of Kansas. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
