Albert Herrera, 49, of Happy, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Harvest Connexion Church in Amarillo with Curtis House officiating. Graveside services will be at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday at Happy Cemetery. Viewing will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 and Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Happy's Memorial Chapel in Happy.
Albert was born on July 23, 1975 in Canyon to Ventura and Ovelinda (Sanmiguel) Herrera. He graduated from Happy High School and attended WTAMU. He had various occupations before settling into farming and ranching in the Happy area.
Albert lived life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and was always willing, no matter how busy he might have been, to stop and help anyone anywhere. He loved people and had a heart for those in need, always showing an unselfish concern for the welfare of others. He was never afraid to try anything. If he didn't know how to do something, he would figure it out, using the knowledge passed down from his dad. Albert loved his family immensely and will be lovingly remembered by them for his easy-going and somewhat mischievous personality. True to his enthusiastic and adventurous nature, he enjoyed fishing, mudding, and chasing storms.
Albert is preceded in death by his mother, Ovelinda Herrera, stepfather to his son, Dwain Oats, and his best friend, Dennis Wilhelm.
Survivors include his father, Ventura Herrera; his brother, Daniel Herrera and wife, Pam, sister, Ofelia Fleming and husband, Russell, and brother, Junior Herrera; his son, Alex Herrera and wife, Pamela Marie Jones; Alex's sister, Kinsey Oats; four grandchildren, Evan, Peyton, Paisley, and Ethan Herrera; niece, Julie Sorrells and husband, Michael; nephew, Scott Fleming and wife, Caitlin and their children, Seth, Orianna, and Michael; three stepdaughters, Melina Niblock, Madison Nichols, and Maley Reyes; stepson, Miguel Encinias; and nine step grandchildren.
