Services will be at 1:00 on Wednesday, January, 28, 2004 at Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick, OK. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. She will be buried in Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Frederick, OK. Adell Johnson was born on May 31, 1909, to P.A. and Lois Johnson. She married Charles L. Clapp in their hometown of Frederick, OK in 1928. Their family of four moved to Borger, TX in 1940 where Mrs. Clapp was a devoted mother and homemaker. Mr. and Mrs. Clapp especially enjoyed watching their two sons participate in Borger High School athletics and West Texas State University football games. After 52 years of marriage, Mr. Clapp preceded her in death, and Mrs. Clapp continued to make Borger her home until the last several years. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Golia Johnson, Travis Johnson, Olin Johnson, Pelham Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Joann Reynalds, and Lillie Hester, and one great-great grandson, Gabriel Maxwell. Her sons, Kenneth and Mark would like to thank the caretakers of Hudson House and Palo Duro Nursing Center for their devotion to their mother. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Clapp, and wife, Hallie, of Amarillo, and Mark Clapp, and wife, Carolyn, of Kingwood, TX; two sisters, Ruth Stewart and Hazel Thomason; one brother, James Johnson; five grandchildren, Steven Clapp and wife, Denise, Stacy Junell, and husband, Lonnie, Michael Clapp, and wife, Laura, Marcy Barkemeyer, and husband, Greg, and Mark D. Clapp, and wife, Christy; eleven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
