Addie Maureta Croslin

September 19, 1935 — January 29, 2022

Addie Maureta (Horn) Croslin was born September 19, 1935, in Briscoe, Texas to Ruth (Moore) and Oren Horn. Maureta left this temporary home to take up permanent residence in Heaven on January 29, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Dr. Nate Magloughlin, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Maureta was reared on the family farm and ranching operation and graduated from Briscoe schools in 1953. It was while she worked in Wheeler that she met and married the love of her life, Dave Croslin. They began their life together in McLean prior to purchasing a motel and moving the family to Clarendon. Together they raised three children, with their middle child (Cindy) being born with special needs. Maureta cared for Cindy with the skill of a nurse while assisting in the family business, Western Skies Motel in Clarendon. She enjoyed meeting people staying overnight from all over the world. Maureta devoted her life to meeting the needs of family. She was an immaculate housekeeper and exceptional cook. Her work ethic was second to none. Maureta was an active member of First Baptist Church in Clarendon.

In July 1995, Maureta and Dave made the decision to retire and moved to Amarillo. Retirement brought new friends, adventures, and travel as they continued to oversee the care of Cindy. They joined and were active in Trinity Baptist Church as long as health allowed attendance.

Maureta is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Cindy.

Survivors include Dave Croslin of the home; daughter Dalyn Younts and husband Bill of Lubbock; and son Randy Croslin and wife Jennie of Canyon. She is also survived by grandsons Colby Croslin, wife Staci, and sons Camden and Easton of Canyon; Conner Croslin and son Colten of Canyon; and Brady Graham, wife Corey, and son Keenan of Wolfforth. She also leaves behind brother Thurman Horn and wife Bobbye of Mobeetie; sister-in-law Juanita Webb of Fort Worth; two nieces; and a nephew.

While we grieve her passing, we rejoice that she is in the very presence of God and is reuniting with loved ones. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to your favorite charity.
