Ada Hail

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Jimmy Davis, her nephew, officiating. Burial and graveside services will be on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Texas. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Ada Dove Hail, 97, daughter of pioneer West Texas family, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in Amarillo, Texas. She was born July 1, 1913 in the family home established by her grandfather in southwest Jones County in 1888, to William H. And Mary C. Kennedy. She enjoyed a long marriage to I. J. Hail who preceded her in death in 1984. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Canyon, Texas where she served for years as secretary / treasurer of Kings Daughters Sunday School class. Survivors include her son, E. Jay Hail and wife, Leslie, of Canyon; two granddaughters, Meghan Hail of Hanford, California and Kathryn Begeman and husband, Heath, of Eastland, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. The family suggests memorials be to Kings Daughters Sunday School class of First Baptist Church of Canyon, 1717 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
