Jeanette Head

March 18, 1939 ~ April 4, 2018 (age 79)

Jeanette was born March 18, 1939 in Arapaho, OK. She passed away April 4, 2018 at home with her family.  Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.

After graduating from Dumas High School, she moved to Amarillo, Tx where she met Bill Head. They were married on March 1, 1963 in Hereford, Tx. They moved to Canyon, Tx shortly after marriage and began their family.

While raising three children, she chose to further her education at West Texas State University. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Education with a 4.0 GPA. It was one of her proudest accomplishments. After completing her degree, she accepted a position with the financial aid office at her alma matter. She worked her way up to the position of Associate Director before retiring in 1999.

Jeanette built a home that was open to friends, family, and those in need. She cherished nothing more than sitting around the dining table drinking coffee and visiting with the people she loved. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit places such as Hawaii, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Russia. She lived a life full of adventures. She will be missed by her family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by son, Derek Reno Head; son-in-law, Cory Fancher; parents Jack and Ruth Parker, Helen and Tommy Clayton, and Jack Clayton; grandmother Janie Clayton; brothers Gary Clayton and Jackie Parker.

She is survived by husband, Bill Head; daughters, Susan Erline White, Tommi Head, and Traci Head Fancher; son, BJ Head (Julie); grandchildren, Kyleigh Head (fiancé Shane Price), Jack, Luke, & Sloane Fancher, Brooks & Bennett Head; sisters, Sandie Wein & Laressa Willingham (Herman); brothers, Ewing Clayton (Shirley), and Phil Clayton (Sue); sister-in-law Tricia Parker; and many loving nieces and nephews.
