Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30 at Happy Cemetery with Rev. Tom Stribling, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Happy’s Memorial Chapel. Wynnell was born on May 9, 1937 in Estelline to James and Corrie Briggs Bell. She married Carl Wayne Sims on January 3, 1964 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in January of 1994. Wynnell was a longtime resident of Happy. She attended the United Methodist Church of Happy. She was a member of the Cow Belles and Order of the Eastern Star and also a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi. Wynnell never met a stranger. She loved basketball and being called "Happy Nana" by her grandchildren. She also loved raising her family and the life they lived out on the farm. Survivors include her two sons, Jeffery Mark Sims, of Happy, Jay Stephen Sims and wife, Suzanne, of Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren, Braden Sims and Jace Sims; sister, Wanda Moore, of Bowie; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to Happy Fire Department, PO Box 216, Happy, TX 79042 or to the United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 56, Happy, TX 79042.
