Obituary for WINNIE RUTH PENNINGTON

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 24 at Happy Cemetery in Happy, Texas. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 24 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Lyndal Waldrip, Associate Pastor of MORE Church in Amarillo, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Mrs. Pennington was born July 27, 1910 in Taylor County, Texas and married Robert Van Pennington April 8, 1931. Mrs. Pennington was employed many years at Neblett and Palo Duro Hospitals. She resided at The Arbors and at The Continental in Amarillo, and at Canyon Health Care and the Conner House in Canyon. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Canyon since 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, R.V. and a daughter, Wynne Faye. Also preceded her were her parents, six brothers, and two sisters. Surviving her is a son, Phil Pennington and wife, Dorothy Jane, of Pampa; a daughter, Frances Waldrip and husband, Lamont, of Canyon; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Owen, of San Marcos, TX.
