Obituary for WILLIAM LEE 'BILL' JONES

Private celebration of life services will be held by the family. William Lee "Bill" Jones was born April 7, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to Reuben F. Jones, Jr. and Frances Krogmire Jones. After graduating from high school at 16, he moved with his family to Oklahoma City where he attended the University of Oklahoma, receiving a B.A. in Business Administration. Having participated in ROTC in college, he served the U.S. Army in the 508th Field Artillery Battalion. After his military service he went to work for Burroughs Corporation. In 1956, he married Barbara Ann Morrow in Oklahoma City. They had five children. He retired from Burroughs after thirty years as a computer salesman and manager. After retiring, he and Barbara remained in Canyon, enjoying golf, travel and their many friends. After Barbara's death in 1995, he met and married Lynda Jackson in 2000. They enjoyed 16 years of marriage, traveling, laughing and eating. Bill loved to eat and cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Barbara Jones, and an infant son, Lawrence Jones. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Jones; children, Lisa Jones, of Justin, TX, David Jones and wife, Glory, of Spokane, WA, Scott Jones and wife, Jill, of Haslet, and Steve Jones, of Frisco; stepchildren, Jeff Jackson and Julie Rowan, both of Carson City, NV, and Jamie Jackson, of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Jake, Ben, and Sam Jones, Jordan Bernard, and Katie Rowan; two great grandchildren, Scriven Elias Bernard and Adylin Yahrling; and two sisters, Susan Harris and Joann Jones.
