Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at St. Ann"s Catholic Church with Rev. Phu Phan, pastor, officiating. There will be a Rosary 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Vicente Salinas was born April 19, 1924 in Sabinas, Hidalgo, Mexico. In 1948 he married Aida L. de Guevara and in 1965 moved his family to Dimmitt, Texas where they lived for 24 years. In 1989 they moved to Canyon where he lived his last very happy years. He loved his family and playing the guitar. He loved to have all his family in his small home. He specially loved Christmas, when the living room would fill up with presents and children. He was preceded in death by a son, Vicente Salinas, I. Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Aida Salinas; one son, Vicente and wife, Cuca Salinas; seven daughters, Irma and husband, Jose" Bazaldua, and Margaret and husband, Gustavo Vaquera, all of Canyon, Oneida and husband, Sergio Perez, and Marta and husband, Tomas Solis, all of Monterrey, Mexico, Mimi and husband, Mike Martinez, of Midland, Angie and husband, Jay Huffaker, and Christina and husband, Abel Aguilera, all of Arlington; fifteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
