Obituary for VERNON LEE MANN

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 2 at Hillside Christian Church Chapel with Tommy Politz, senior pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Vernon Lee Mann, 83, of Amarillo, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 29, 2010. He was born November 14, 1926 in Erick, Oklahoma to Konnie Lee and Minnie Mann. He married the love of his life, Treva, September 21, 1946. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine, retired from Pantex in 1991 where he was known as "Uncle Vern", and maintained a beautiful garden as long as his health allowed. Vernon had a great love for his family and made it a priority to spend time with them. He treasured his wife and family and passed down a legacy of faith in Jesus. The last scripture he quoted was 1 Cor 2:9, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Konnie Lee and Minnie Mann of Erick, Oklahoma; his brother Carl Mann of Amarillo and his brother Buford Mann of Erick, Oklahoma. Vernon is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Treva Johnson Mann of Amarillo; his daughter Martha Mann Labus and husband Ron Labus of Missouri City, Texas; his son Kenny Mann and wife Dorothy Mann of Amarillo; his daughter Jeanne Mann Harrison and husband Dean Harrison of Amarillo; six grandchildren: Donna Labus Politz and Tommy Politz of Amarillo; Leah Labus Caffey and Brad Caffey of Missouri City, Texas; Amy Labus Pipkin and Chris Pipkin of Missouri City, Texas; Joshua Mann and Brandi Mann of Leander, Texas; Justin Mann and Laurie Mann of Moore, Oklahoma; Jacob Mann of Amarillo; step grandchildren: Kyle Harrison, Marissa Harrison; eleven great grandchildren: Grant, Riley, Rebekah, Camden, Cole, Jenna, Carson, Jace, Blake, Judson, and Addison; his brother: Ray Mann of Amarillo; and several nieces.
