Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2008 at Brooks Chapel with her brother, Rev. Thomas Echols, Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church, and Rev. Jim Loper, pastor Cornerstone Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial is at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Brooks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Vera Pauley was born on November 28, 1935 to Clarence and Ada McCarty Echols. Vera married James Pauley on December 17, 1961 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. On December 18, 1959, Vera graduated from Draughon"s Business College in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. Vera had been a resident of Canyon since 1963. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and her daughter, Deirdre Pauley, in 1964. Survivors include her two daughters, Amanda Crawford and husband, Shaun, of Texoma, OK, Enola Nichols and husband, Alfred, of Amarillo; three sons, Alton Allen, of Amarillo, Terry Allen and wife, J., of Apache Junction, AZ, James Pauley, of Amarillo; two brothers, Richard Echols, of Amarillo, Rev. Thomas Echols and wife, Brenda, of Crowley, TX; eleven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to The Gideons International, P.O.
