Private Interment Tommy Gooch was born on May 6, 1933 in Abilene, Texas to Tom and Mildred Francis Gooch. He graduated from Baylor University in 1955 and married Sarah Colwell in 1956. He has worked in insurance since 1959 and owned an independent underwriting agency in the Rio Grande Valley for 29 years. He taught the Bible at Vigo Park Methodist Church. Tommy was a 32nd Degree Mason, received his 50 year pin and was a lifetime member of the Masons. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon and served as Vice President on the board of directors for Dreamland Cemetery. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Thomas Gooch. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Gooch, of the home; two sons, James Walter Gooch, of Carrollton, and Edgar Colwell Gooch, of Canyon; two grandsons, James Walter Gooch, Jr. And Joseph Thomas Gooch, both of Carrollton; and one sister, Frances Peggram Brown, of Colorado. The family suggests memorials be to Dreamland Cemetery, PO Box 38, Canyon, TX 79015, or Vigo Park Methodist Church.
