Obituary for TERRY PEARSON Dr.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with David Lough, minister of University Church of Christ in Canyon, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Baton Rouge. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Terry Pearson, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, professor and friend went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2007. Dr. Terry Pearson was born on August 27, 1951 at Freeport, Texas to Stanley and Joan Gilley Pearson. He graduated from Brazosport High School in Freeport, Texas in 1969. He then graduated from Louisiana State University where he received his BA and Masters degrees and did his Doctoral work. He received his Phd from Waldon University. He taught at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, Southeastern Louisiana University, and most recently WTAMU. He married Glenda Clark of Baton Rouge, Louisiana on August 30, 1980. He and his family owns and operates Pearson Technology, a leader in development of alternative fuels. He was a member of University Church of Christ in Canyon and a former member of Goodwood Church of Christ in Baton Rouge, LA. He was passionately devoted to his students and their learning. Terry loved his family and wanted to be at Church everytime the doors opened. His love for outdoors gave Terry many hours of pleasure hunting and dirt bike riding. Survivors include his wife, Glenda, of the home; two sons, Clay Pearson, of Baton Rouge, LA and Cody Pearson, of the home; his parents, Stan and Joan Pearson, of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Mark Pearson, MD and wife, Cathy, of York, NE; two sisters, Julie Vantine and husband, Bruce, of Louisburg, KS and Elizabeth Krings and husband, Jeff, of Winston Salem, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In leiu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 50433, Amarillo, Texas 79159 or High Plains Children"s Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114.
