Obituary for TALLEY O. TIMMENS

Services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, October 27, 2006 at The First United Methodist Church with Rev. Clark Williams and Rev. Donna Johnston, pastors, and Rev. Kevin Deckard, pastor of Westover Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. Talley Owen Timmens was born on December 15, 1949 to Claud V. and Lorita Mae Hogan Timmens in Glendale, CA. He graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1968 and received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business from West Texas State University in 1975. He married Katy Thomas on April 5, 1980 and was a sales representative for Bush Hog. He then received an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science from Amarillo College in 2003 and was a funeral director for Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Pampa. He was currently a funeral director at Rix Funeral Home in Hereford, Texas. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Talley was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canyon where he was active in the church choir and the Searchers Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Katy Timmens, of the home; two sons, Paul Timmens of Canyon and Seth Timmens of the home; a brother, Terry Timmens and wife, Becky, of Fritch; a sister, Timara Graves and husband, Sherman, of Russellville, AR; an uncle, Chuck Hogan and wife, Louise, of Mobeetie; an aunt, Martha Lou Parker and husband, R. C. of McLean; and two cousins, Roberta Pugh and Minnie Olive Jackson, both of Pampa and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church Choir, 1818 4th Avenue, Canyon, Texas 79015.
