Obituary for Sylvia Rittenberry Tucker
Sylvia Rittenberry Tucker, 67, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Amarillo with Dr. Trevor Brown, Associate Pastor, officiating.
Sylvia was born on July 18, 1956 in Amarillo to Doug and Sue Rittenberry. She was a 1975 graduate of Canyon High School, and in 1983, she married H.M. ‘Tuck’ Tucker.
Sylvia currently worked at Pantex as she has for the last 20+ years. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Amarillo, Amarillo Junior League, and the Amarillo HOG Club. She loved animals and her passion was gardening and working with her flowers, as evidenced by her beautiful yard. Sylvia loved her family and friends and was always willing to help. She will be lovingly remembered for her generous spirit.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her father in 2018 and her husband in 2019.
Survivors include her mother, Sue Rittenberry of Canyon; sister, Dorothy Davis and husband, Dale of Canyon; nephew, Austin Davis and wife, Brett of Canyon and their children, Cutter Ryan and Layke Davis; and three stepchildren, Tim Tucker and fiancé, Liz Davidson of Amarillo, Kelli Orford and husband, Ed of Charleston, SC, and Holli Tucker of Charleston, SC.
