Obituary for STANLEY VICTOR MUDGE

The service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Dreamland Cemetery, with Mike Kuhlman, officiating. The burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. Stanley Mudge was born in Cleburne, Texas on December 20, 1923. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a rear gunner on a TBM on the USS Bunker Hill Aircraft Carrier. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as an Assistant Superintendent for 44 years. He was married to Lily Mudge in June of 1961, and they have made their home in Canyon for the past 33 years. He was involved with Texas Legacies for several years, and he was a 50 year member of the Masons. He was preceded in death by his parents: Stanley V. Mudge, Sr. and Mary Jane Given Mudge, and a daughter, Melody Turner. The survivors are his wife Lily Mudge, of the home;his 3 sons Rhett Mudge and his wife Staci ,of Canyon, Shane Mudge and his wife Diane, of Aledo, Texas, and Johnny Kent, of Waco; 1 daughter, Marsha Smith and her husband Steven, of Canyon; and his sister, Frances Cooper, of Cleburne. He also had 11 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Texas Heritage Foundation, 1514 5th Ave, Canyon, Texas 79015, and El Tesoro de la Vida, grief camp for children, 1335 O Neal Ave, South Aledo, Texas 76008.
