Obituary for Ruby Jean Criddle
Ruby Jean Criddle, 87, of Canyon, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon, TX with Rev. Gene Jones, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:00 A.M.
Ruby was born on March 29, 1935 in Webb, Mississippi to Ervin and Lida (Burk) Yarbrough. She married Leo Criddle in 1952 in Sumner, MS and they moved to Canyon in 1957. She received her diploma through the Bible Chair at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, through Amarillo College. She taught Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church and then at First Baptist Church of Canyon. She was currently a member of Brandon Baptist Church in Mississippi. Later in life, Ruby took care of the elderly.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Lida Yarbrough, her son, Michael Criddle, her grandson, Kevin Seymour, her great grandson, Anthony Leo Criddle, her husband, Leo Criddle, her daughter, Karen Seymour, and her siblings, Ora Gaston, Laurance Yarbrough, Burt Yarbrough, Audry Dunn, Corrine Blankinship, Maxine Jennings, Billie Morris, James Yarbrough, and Helen Bradsher.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Alexander and husband, Jim of Fritch; her son, Steve Criddle and wife, Bobbie of Brandon, MS; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Criddle; nine grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.
