Obituary for RUBY CARVER

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Gayle Bowen, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Bruial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Ruby Carver was born on August 27, 1915 in Ada, Oklahoma to Louis and Ella Howard Sarrett. She received her BA from West Texas State College and taught at Happy High School for fourteen years, retiring as Librarian. She married Joe Carver in 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1980. She loved the Lord and taught Sunday School at the First Baptist Church of Canyon for many years. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, playing Bridge, and just being with others. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon, the Library Club, and Retired Teachers Association. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen, in 1950. The family would like to send their sincere thanks to the caregivers at Canyon Healthcare and Hospice of the Southwest for their loving care. Survivors include two sons, Joe Carver and wife, Yvonne, of Ft. Worth, and Gary Carver and wife, Pat, of Canyon; six grandchildren, Brandy Graham, of Hydro, OK, Lacey King, of Amarillo, Chance Carver, of Weatherford, OK, Bryan Carver, of Springtown, Loree Laster, of Austin, and Kathy Viney, of Ft. Worth; and numerous great and great great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Buckner Children"s Home, 600 North Pearl St., Suite 2000, Dallas, Texas 75201.
