Obituary for ROSE VITULA DAVIS

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 24 at the 11th Street Baptist Church in Shamrock with Rev. Jes Stafford, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Shamrock Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23 at Brooks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. She will be instate at the 11th Street Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 24 at 11:00 A.M. Rose Vitula Davis lacked two days being 98 years old. One of six children born to William Lee and Viola Alexander Marriott on February 22, 1912 in Kiowa County, Oklahoma. When she was five years old, her family moved to Mena, Arkansas for three years, then moved to the Texas Panhandle. She lived with her family in Wheeler County until she married Neal Davis on August 12, 1929 in Texola, Oklahoma. They spent most of their lives in Wheeler, Carson, Lamb, and Swisher counties. They spent some time in the western Oklahoma counties. In 1987, she moved to Potter County to live in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons, Richmond and Preston Davis. She is survived by son, Odell Davis, of Amarillo; six daughters, Ruby Brown, of Borger, Vineta Weiss, of Shamrock, Velma Francis, of Amarillo, Bettie Kirkland, of Pampa, Johnnie McGee, of Fritch, and Linda Hall, of Amarillo. She had thirty two grandchildren, sixty three great grandchildren, and twenty seven great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ermal Pond, of Amarillo.
