Obituary for Ronnie K. Griffith

Ronnie K. Griffith, 72, of Canyon, Texas went gently into eternity on March 26, 2024. He was enveloped in love by his family who adored him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Living Water Christian Fellowship in Canyon with David Lowrie, Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Decatur, officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery.

Ronnie was born on April 7, 1951 in Plainview, Texas to David and Nadine King Griffith. He graduated from Panhandle High School and WTSU with a degree in Physical Education. After becoming a certified electrician, he worked for SPS for 40 years before retiring from Xcel Energy.

Ron loved being outdoors and camping in Colorado with his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and took every opportunity to enjoy those hobbies on his own or with those closest to him. A jack of all trades and the ultimate Mr. Fix-It, Ronnie lived his faith by doing good works, always lending a hand, and showing up for those he loved. He kept the greenest lawn on the block. If ever he was needed, and he certainly was, Ronnie never wavered. He was always there, and his love was fierce, steady, and gentle.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Janice Griffith.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Griffith, of the home; daughter, Shawna McKeown and husband, Donovan of Fairfax, VA; stepsons Brett Spalding and wife, Annika of Amarillo, Craig Spalding of Denver, CO, and Scott Spalding and wife, Kelsey of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren, Miles, Emily, Kate and Maggie McKeown, Liv and Stellan Spalding, Vinny and soon to be baby boy Spalding; brothers, Gary Griffith and wife, Nancy, Randy Griffith and wife, Peggy; sister, Vonda Marquez and husband Joe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
