Obituary for RILEY WILLIAM TROTH

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Brooks Chapel with Pastor Bobby File, minister of the Evangelical Fellowship Church in Amarillo, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 29 at Brooks Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Riley William Troth was born on August 6, 1918 in Yale, Oklahoma to Harry and Eva Mae Coiner Troth. He married Mary Bowman in Brownwood, Texas on February 7, 1942. He graduated from High School in Phillips, Texas. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of the 316th troop carrier group. He flew troops and supplies and dropped them into France on D-Day. He attended West Texas State College and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy. Riley practiced pharmacy for fifty years in Amarillo and Canyon. He was the owner of Canyon Drug from 1951 to 1967. He was one of the founders of Hidden Falls Ranch at Wayside, Texas. He was a volunteer for hospice, Meals on Wheels, and Books on Wheels. He was a member of the Evangelical Fellowship Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; two daughters, Lynda Callaway and husband, Baxter, of Childress, and Holly Troth, of Canyon; two grandchildren, Kimberly Zimmer and husband, Rick, of Amarillo, and Wade Callaway and wife, Bethany, of Amarillo; and eight great grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary, Rylee, and Faith Zimmer, and Creed, Keegan, Caris, and Kinley Callaway. The family requests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
