Obituary for RIDGE TERRY

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Amarillo with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Viewing will be at Rector Funeral Home in Amarillo on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Rector Funeral Home. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ridge Terry was born on May 11, 1955 in Amarillo to James and Audrey Teague Terry. He attended Caprock High School and married Becky Jeffus in Amarillo on November 4, 1977. With hard work and determination to make a good life for the family he loved, he taught himself everything about computers. He began working at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2002, receiving several promotions over the years. At present he was a lead programmer analyst/server support to implement the schools electronic medical records system. He had a wealth of knowledge that is truly unmatched and he will always be affectionately remembered as "our grumpy script master". He loved electronics and his video games, was master of everything, and was always "Mr. Fix It". He was a great husband, Dad, and Poppy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Amarillo and was preceded in death by his parents, James and Audrey Terry. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of Baptist St. Anthony"s Hospice for their loving care. Survivors include his wife, Becky Terry, of the home; son, James Terry, of Amarillo, daughter, Jennifer Onderek and husband, Joshua, of Springtown, son, Joshua Terry, of Alpine, and daughter, Jessica Terry and Andrew Fenn, of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Ryan, Tageen, Jackson, Brianna, and Addison, and he wanted so much to see the arrival of his sixth grandchild, Audrey.
