RALPH HUNTINGTON, 78, of Canyon, died Wednesday June 19, 2002. Services will be at 11:00am Monday, June 24, 2002 in Brooks Chapel with Deacon Gabe Rivas officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. He was born on March 11, 1924 in Pioneer, Texas to Hubert and Nettie Mae Harris Huntington. He graduated from Pioneer High School. He married Mary Tzouanakis in Greencastle, Indiana in 1946. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Abilene Christian College in 1947. Mr. Huntington served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Church of Christ. After college he coached football at Hale Center, Van Horn, Wilson and Petersburg and later went into the Crop Hail Insurance adjusting business. Survivors include, his wife, Mary Huntington, of the home; three daughters, Kathy Stevens, and husband, David, of Keller, Texas, Nancy Huntington, of Canyon, and Betsy Huntington, of Canyon; two sons, Jerry Huntington, of Amarillo, and Stephen Huntington, of Barcelona, Spain; one sister, Zilla Cline, and husband, Gary, of Hooker, Oklahoma and two grandchildren, Lynda Stockton, and husband, Glen, of Frisco, Texas and Jono Huntington, of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The family suggests the memorials be to the American Heart Association, c/o Virginia Cotton, 1403 Hillcrest, Canyon, Texas 79015 and/or Canyon Area Library, 1301 3rd Ave, Canyon, Texas 79015.
