Obituary for R. B. FREDERICK

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 6, 2008 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chaplain John H. Elser, Chaplain of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. R. B. Bob "Coach" Frederick was born July 21, 1932 in Austin, Texas to Joseph and Hattie Loehr Frederick. He graduated from Austin High School, San Angelo State, and Harden Simmons University. Coach Frederick moved to Amarillo in 1963 from Llano, Texas. He taught science and was Head Coach at Horace Mann until 1968. He was a member of the Texas High Schools Coaches Association and Texas State Teachers Association. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah J. Anderson, of Garland, TX, and Cheryl Rodriguez, of Valley Center, CA; five sisters, Betty Briscoe, of Hurst, TX, Mamie Edmonds, Orlando, FL, Cora Nell Womack, of Waco, TX, Linda Terry, of Austin, TX, and Patricia Baxes, of American Canyon, CA; three brothers, George Frederick, of Luthersville, GA, Johnny Frederick, of Killeen, TX, and Gerald Frederick, of Phflugerville, TX; six grandchildren, Amanda Anderson West, of Garland, Amy Anderson, of Dallas, Christopher Rodriguez, and Erica Rodriquez Nieves, both of Valley Center, CA, Daphne Rodriguez, of Maui, Hawaii, and Natalie Rodriguez, of Valley Center, CA; and five great grandchildren.
