Obituary for R. Q. CAMPBELL

Graveside Services will be 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Dreamland Cemetery with Rev. Jim Messer, Pastoral Care Director of Bivins Memorial Nursing Home, officiating. R.Q. "Buddie" Campbell was born on October 12, 1922 in Runnels County, Texas to Ida (Carr) and John Alexander Campbell. He served as a gunner"s mate in the U.S. Navy on the Pacific front during World War II. Buddie was in independent contractor and cement mason. His work was marked by quality and artistry. Buddie loved working in his yard and vegetable garden and avidly followed the news. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy"s fan and loved to play "Forty-Two." He was preceded in death by 12 siblings and two wives. Survivors include his daughter, Kathie Campbell Greer of Amarillo;two sons, Ron Campbell and his wife Kim of Canyon and Lindon Campbell and his wife Sharon of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren .
