Philip Stevens, 64, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.  Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 10, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor John Elser officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Phil was born on April 24, 1955 in Canyon to George Thomas and Shirley Thurmond Stevens.  He married Pam Tucek on April 13, 1974 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canyon.  Phil worked for the Texas Highway Department in road maintenance for thirty years.  He loved hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends, and enjoyed having a good time.  Phil is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronnie Stevens, and an uncle, Dick Thurmond.  Survivors include his wife, Pam Stevens of the home; his daughter, Tonya Lopez of Northlake; two sons, Justin Stevens and wife, Donna of Umbarger and Clint Johnson of Hereford; two grandchildren, Serenity Lopez of Northlake and Dustin Stevens of Umbarger; two brothers, Wilkes Stevens of Canyon and Wallace Stevens of Amarillo; aunt and uncle, Jim and Sue Hill; aunts, Joyce Green and Marlyn Thurmond; sister-in-law, Norma Stevens; and numerous other family members. The family suggests memorials be to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2600 4th Avenue, Canyon, Texas 79015.
