Obituary for PEGGY TUCKER

Memorial services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Canyon with Bob Crass, Chaplain, BSA Hospice of the Southwest, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Brooks Chapel. Private interment will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Peggy was born November 18, 1930 in Umbarger to Paul and Mildred Hancock LaLoge. Paul died June 30, 1930, a few months before Peggy was born. She moved from Umbarger to Canyon and attended school there, graduating from the West Texas State Demonstration School in 1949. Peggy married Thomas Tucker on July 22, 1950. She worked for the Texas ASCS office in Canyon for 34 years. She was an avid reader, excellent seamstress, great cook, and loved stray animals and kids, always having extra supper for her kids’ friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her husband, and a sister Carolyn Harris. The family would like to thank all those at BSA Hospice of the Southwest for the love and great care of our mom. Survivors include her children, Tommy Tucker III, and wife Ginger, of Amarillo, Kim Graham and husband Perry, of Canyon, Kris Tucker, of Canyon, and Terre Pike and husband David, of Amarillo; two sisters, Marilyn Mathews and husband Bob, of Ark City, KS and Sandra Hord, of Canyon; five grandchildren, Jay Graham and wife Amber, of Happy, Holly Graham Young and husband Chris, of Amarillo, Amy Tucker Mode and husband Marvin, of Canyon, Chuck Tucker and wife Paige, of Canyon, and Kory Tucker, of Amarillo; and seventeen great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to City Church, 205 S. Polk St., Amarillo, Texas 79101, Faith City Mission, 401 SE 2nd Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79101, or a favorite charity.
