Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Donna Johnston, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church of Canyon officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 9, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church. Peggy Jean Martin Jones September 23, 1926- July 31, 2005 Peggy was born in Abilene, Texas to Edgel Leon Martin and Elizabeth Brock Martin. She was raised in Paducah and Abilene Texas by her maternal grandparents, George and Fannie Brock. Peggy married J. Keith Jones in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, June 4, 1948 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. Peggy was active in the First United Methodist Church of Canyon as well as Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity at West Texas State. She was the member of several bridge clubs and the museum auxillary. Peggy was an avid supporter of the arts, music, and social life in the panhandle. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Keith of Canyon and her sister Betty M. Robertson of Amarillo, Texas. She is survived by her daughter, Melody Jones Hull, and her husband Andy, 2 grandchildren, Madeline and Oran and half sister Kaye Holzberlein of Sulphur, Okla and 5 half brothers, Ed, Tom, Dan, Mike and Bill Martin of Oklahoma and Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Canyon or Hidden Falls Ranch, Wayside, Texas.
