Obituary for Paul Harold Woolsey

Paul Harold “PH” Woolsey, 98, was taken by God’s hand from Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home in Amarillo, Texas on Saturday, November 26, 2022.
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Paul Hudson and Julie Simmons, officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5 from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel.

Harold was born in Ft Worth, Texas on October 16, 1924 to Rosie and Erie Woolsey, one of 8 children and was the only remaining member of the family.

He served bravely with the Navy during WWII on the USS Enterprise and was wounded during the Ship’s last battle. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

He met and fell in love with a young but very mature woman. They married February 1, 1947 and he spoiled her till the day he left this world.

He was an awesome mechanic and owned Harold’s Garage in Happy, Texas until he retired. He used his superpowers to help all that needed his help. He and the love of his life spent their retirement years traveling the USA.
He was a hardworking man who loved his family and friends. He was a man of his generation: strong, silent, and loving.

He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell, in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Anna Pauline of the home; a son, David and wife Carolyn of Hobbs, New Mexico; two daughters Pam of Canyon and Paula Harris and husband Bobby of the home; a daughter-in-love, Judy of Roaring Springs, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
