Obituary for PAUL E. CATTANEO

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the University Church of Christ with David Lough, and Bob Shepard officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Brooks Chapel. Paul Ernest Cattaneo was born on May 6, 1928 in Bonanza, Arkansas to John and Jewel Peerson Cattaneo. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He married Myrtis Broom on February 27, 1954, she preceded him in death on February 8, 2011. Paul worked at Panhandle Fruit Company before being drafted and returned to work there following the war. He then went into farming and ranching for the next thirty years. He was a long time member of the University Church of Christ. Paul enjoyed bird hunting with his bird dogs, fishing, and antique cars. He also loved attending his grandchildren’s ball games. Paul was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include his daughter, Lyna Borger and husband, Mike, of Pampa; his son, Mike Cattaneo and wife, Donna, of Canyon; three grandchildren, Lacey Jones and husband, Mitch, Tanner Borger and wife, Kate, and Chance Borger and wife, Cori; and five great grandchildren, with another one due in June. The family suggests memorials be to the High Plains Children’s Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114.
